Ingredients

  • 2lbs Chicken wings
  • Salt and pepper
  • Chimichurri seasoning

Hot Maple Sauce

  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup wing sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  • Gather all the necessary ingredients: 2 lbs chicken wings, salt, pepper, Chimichurri seasoning, 1/4 cup maple syrup, 1/4 cup wing sauce, 2 tbsp butter, and 2 tsp garlic powder.
  • Start by preheating your smoker to 300°F (150°C). This will give the chicken wings plenty of time to reach the desired temperature during the smoking process.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add 2 lbs of chicken wings.
  • Coat the chicken wings with cooking oil. This will help the seasonings adhere to the wings and prevent them from sticking to the smoker.
  • Season the chicken wings generously with salt, pepper, and Chimichurri seasoning. Use your hands to make sure each wing is fully coated in the seasonings.
  • Once the smoker is preheated, carefully place the seasoned chicken wings on the smoker.
  • Close the lid and let the chicken wings smoke until they reach an internal temperature of 175°F (79°C). This should take approximately 30-45 minutes, but the exact cooking time will depend on the size of the wings and the temperature of your smoker.
  • While the chicken wings are smoking, prepare the sauce by combining 1/4 cup maple syrup, 1/4 cup wing sauce, 2 tbsp butter, and 2 tsp of garlic powder in a saucepan.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir continuously until the butter has fully dissolved and the ingredients are fully combined. Set the sauce aside for later use.
  • Once the chicken wings are fully cooked, remove them from the smoker and let them rest for a few minutes. This will allow the juices to redistribute and prevent the wings from becoming dry.
  • Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken wings in a large mixing bowl. Use your hands or a spoon to make sure each wing is fully coated in the sauce.
  • Serve the smoked chicken wings immediately, garnished with extra Chimichurri seasoning if desired. These delicious wings are perfect for game day, a backyard barbecue, or any other occasion where you want to impress your guests with your culinary skills. Enjoy!
