Grilled Nashville Hot Chicken Wings
This is an an absolutely amazing wings recipe! If you like wings, this is for you. It’s a bit spicy, but the brown sugar balances it really well. This is my version of how I would make grilled Nashville chicken wings.

Grilled Nashville Hot Chicken Wings
Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients
- 3lbs chicken wings
- Salt and pepper
- Corn starch
Marinade
- 1 cup butter milk
- 1 cup wing sauce
Sauce
- 1 stick of butter
- 3 tbsp cooking oil
- 3 tbsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp chipotle powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp mustard powder
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp paprika
Instructions
- Start off by making the marinade. In a bowl, add the buttermilk and the wing sauce, stir to combine, next add your wings and place them in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
- After 2 hours, remove them from the marinade and place them in a separate bowl, do not pat them dry.
- Add about 3 tbsp corn starch to coat and then salt and pepper to season. Then add about 1 tsp of each, or your favorite chicken seasoning. The corn starch will give them a nice and crispy skin.
- Preheat your grill to 350 degrees and then cook your wings until they reach an internal temperature of 175.
- When they are done, place them aside and let them rest.
- Make the sauce in a small sauce pan. Add the oil, butter, and the wing sauce. Once the butter is dissolved, add the dry ingredients and stir them well.
- Turn your heat to low on this step. Leave on the heat for about 3 minutes, once the ingredients are aromatic remove from heat.
- Toss the wings with the sauce.
Notes
Serve along your favorite dipping sauce.
